BCS is a non-profit organization (NGO) registered with the Registrar of Societies on 19 August 2004 and the Commissioner of Charities on 9 September 2004. In July 2007, we received full membership with the National Council of Social Services (NCSS) and is conferred the status of Institution of a Public Character (IPC).
We exist to reach out and empower the community through holistic community-based services and programmes to maximize the God-given potential of each individual.
Our objectives are to initiate, assist and organize activities and schemes of social services for the alleviation of poverty, suffering, ignorance or ill health whether physical or mental, without limitation of age, sex, race, nationality, religion or moral character, by the provision of assistance, education, training, services or counselling.

Chairman
Pastor Yew Keong is A BBA graduate from NUS and has been a career banker for over 33 years until his early retirement in 2020. As a risk manager in banking, Yew Keong was seconded to Shanghai from 2005 to 2012 and thereafter to KL from 2012 to 2016. Upon his return to Singapore in 2017, both Yew Keong and his wife May served together as Marriage Mentors in Bethel Assembly of God Church.
Following his early retirement from banking in 2020, Yew Keong was invited to join the Bethel staff team. Currently the Senior Pastor, Yew Keong is happily married with 2 sons, Wayne and Glen.
Vice Chairman
Dr Tan graduated from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2000 with a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery. He also holds Master in Public Health , Master of Medicine in Family Medicine, Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine (DWD), Post Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine as well as Post Graduate Diploma in Family Practice Dermatology
Dr Tan is a Collegiate member of the College of Family Physicians Singapore , a member of the Institutional Research Board (IRB) of Raffles Hospital as well as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Duke-NUS Medical School.
He also serves as a Chairman in Every Home Pte Ltd (Asia Pacific).
Honorary Secretary
Philip has more than 30 years of professional working experience in the fields of Information Technology, Consulting and Training Services. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) from the National University of Singapore and has completed the Company Directors Course and Governance for Outstanding Organisation Directors (SGOOD) Programme from the Singapore Institute of Directors. He is also a Certified Associate Estate Planning Practitioner (AEPP®).
Philip also serves as the Honorary Treasurer of Teen Challenge Singapore and Honorary Treasurer of Assemblies of God Community Services Society.
Honorary Treasurer
Darienna currently works in a leading Japanese automotive company, serving as its Regional Tax Manager for Asia. She holds professional qualifications from The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals as well as the Chartered Secretaries Institute of Singapore.
A mother of 4, Darienna is also serving actively in church as a cell group leader, a marriage mentor and is involved in the worship ministry as a keyboardist and singer.

A senior consultant with Department of Psychological Medicine of a restructured hospital in Singapore, Dr. Ong’s work involves clinical consultations in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, community hospital and residential homes.
She is appointed clinical assistant professor with YLL School of Medicine and DukeNUS. She is actively involved with teaching and training for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Her involvement with Bethel Community Services provides opportunities to engage more purposefully and meaningfully with the community living in Geylang East vicinity.

Irene is a dedicated mental health and rehabilitation professional with over two decades of experience spanning the banking and social service sectors. Since 2005, she has served in various leadership roles at Singapore Anglican Community Services (SACS), including Assistant Director at Hougang Care Centre, Programme Director of Employment Support Services, and currently as Centre Head. Her work has been pivotal in implementing evidence-based practices such as Supported Employment and aligning services with CARF standards, ensuring quality and recovery-focused care for persons with psychiatric disabilities.
In academia, Irene has been actively involved with the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) between 2016 and July 2024. She contributed to the development of the Introduction to Psychiatric Rehabilitation course for the Social Work Bachelor Programme and currently serves as the course instructor, writer, and marker.
Her earlier career in banking, including a decade as Deputy General Manager at Siam Commercial Bank, has equipped her with strong operational and managerial skills. Irene has conducted public training for professionals and caregivers across Singapore and Malaysia, and holds advanced qualifications in counselling, psychiatric rehabilitation, and a range of therapeutic modalities. Her academic credentials include a Master’s in Social Science (Counselling) and specialized training from institutions such as the University of Medicine and Dentistry and Boston University.
Committee Member
Steven holds a Diploma in Marketing from IMUK and Marketing Institute of Singapore. He is trained in Telecommunication & Electronics with a Diploma from C & G. He is currently running his own Company, undertaking Electrical and Lightning Protection Projects.
Steven is currently serving as a cell group leader in his church, overseeing the Seniors Cell Group and is in the Golden Connection Core Team.
Steven is married with two children and seven grandchildren.

Thomas has retired from his role as the Financial Controller of a semi-conductor/electronics multinational company listed on NASDAQ and prior to that, he was a financial controller with SingTel. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and a Fellow Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. He is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant and additionally has a Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from Singapore Institute of Management.
